Perfume guide for world travellers

{A blog post by my sister Chris who loves combining her wanderlust with her every day hobbies. And, boy, does she have many! Reading, cinematography, collecting perfumes… When she suggested writing this blog post, I was super excited, since, when I travel, I always try to match my perfume, to the destination and season. Do you?}

One of the quickest ways to transport oneself to faraway lands without leaving one’s comfortable sofa is a lovely fragrance. ‘Oh, how I wish I could be sunbathing in the Maldives this gloomy morning… Or walking down the narrow streets of Mykonos…’ Just let me grab my favourite bottle of perfume and I can find myself there in a second…

But what happens if you are actually travelling to your dream destination? Isn’t it wonderful to be able to blend in with the land, fragrances and nature through the perfume you’ve wrapped yourself in? Choosing the right perfume helps immersing yourself into your new surroundings and creating memories to last forever. That is the power of experiencing travel with all your senses.

Here are 10 heavenly perfumes to take with you on your travels around the world, selected by destination and season.

Apart from trips around the Mediterranean Sea, Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford makes us yearn for exotic adventures. Add it to your packing list for the trip of a lifetime. How about one exploring the flora, fauna and marine wildlife of the volcanic Comoro Islands in the Indian Ocean?

Bronze Goddess by Estée Lauder

This captivating, warm, summery perfume is an all time classic. With its top notes of Italian bergamot, ginger and mandarin, you will not want to go on another summer trip without it.

FINAL THOUGHTS

We travel to escape the routine. Sometimes even ourselves. We travel not just to gain new experiences but also to become a new version of ourselves. And a bottle of perfume does just that. It answers the question: Who do I want to be today? Don’t finish packing your suitcase before adding a bottle of perfume to suit your most adventurous and carefree self.
